DRIVING SUSTAINIBILITY IN PUBLIC URBAN SPACES
We are a data driven start-up of design and development of advanced smart lighting based-projects to rehabilitate and regenerate green areas and public spaces. We integrate sustainable urbanism, ICT technologies, energy efficiency and citizen participation concepts to foster climate resilience in public spaces.

ABOUT
WHAT PROBLEM ARE WE SOLVING?
Municipalities implement energy efficiency measures, especially in efficient lighting in green areas, parks, squares and streets. The results of these interventions are positive and with returns on investment of up to 50%, however, the use of public space by citizens has not been increased. This could be due to a lack of integration of concepts of energy, environment, urban infrastructure, ICT technologies, and citizen participation in public spaces. We believe that there is an opportunity for the development and planning of new projects that allow for the integration of energy in the form of light and its infrastructure in public spaces making them available to the citizen through activities of cultural and recreational interest, etc. We believe that a sustainable design of public spaces hand in hand with technology, taking advantage of lighting infrastructure to include new sensors to assess urban sustainability in public spaces.
OUR SERVICE

An IoT solution, reflected in the installation of several sensors located in the space (light sensors, sensors for measuring energy consumption, motion sensors, etc.)
An Open Data Analytics tool aimed to identify in an optimal way which public spaces may require intervention or rehabilitation. To this end, a process of Data Analysis will be carried out in the first instance, based on public and open information at the city level.
INTEGRATED SERVICE OF PUBLIC SPACES REHABILITATION

3. Management Platform: consisting of an on-site Data Capture Software to capture in real time the information coming from the sensors installed in the intervened public space and a data Discovery and Automatic Learning Application to evaluate the data collected on the site.
4. Mobile App to enable citizens to obtain information and interact with public spaces already intervened.
5. Administration Web: to interface with the client or administrator of the public space being intervened in order to provide a representative scorecard of all the information associated with the rehabilitation process. The website will make it possible to assess the impact and measure the results of the different initiatives developed.
ACTIONS IN THE PUBLIC SPACE THROUGH CITIZEN PARTICIPATION
MakeLight consists on an advanced smart lighting solution, hence, the direct reduction of GHG emissions will be achieved by the energy savings of the installed infrastructure. On the other hand, as it will be a rehabilitation of public spaces, including green areas, we also aim to contribute to the resilience of the space we will intervene, and enhance citizen engagement. Having real time information on the interactions occurring in the areas, will allow local governments to improve their energy and climate action plans.
